The Hinds Sisters began their ministry singing acappella around 1988 while they were members of the Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church in Waverly, AL.  At that time Rev. Willie D. Hinds (their father)  was pastor.  His four daughters Natwinda "Twin", Nacquata, Niesha and Naiah "Toni" were faithful members of the church choir.  There were times when Rev. Hinds would have to preach and the only choir members that would go were his four young daughters.  Those four girls soon began to receive invitations to sing, not as Peach and Goodwill Choir, but as the Hinds Sisters.  Their listening audience had given them a name!  Their mother, Ruth Hinds became their manager and she also coached them in their singing.  The Hinds Sisters developed a true love for singing gospel and began to travel  throughout southeast Alabama with the help of both parents who supported them fully.  By that time, the girls had formed a special bond and oneness that really came out as they sang, for it was as if they could read each other's mind.

In July of 1991, The Hinds Sisters celebrated their first official anniversary.  They were amazed at how their popularity had grown.  People came from near and far and made it a great success.  They would continue to have such anniversaries for the next seven years.  Throughout out this time they realized that it was time to start planning and they decided not to limit themselves.  They did not want to just be known locally, they wanted to travel around the world and spread the good news of Jesus.  In 1996 The Hinds Sisters made their first recording on cassette.  At that time they did not have musicians of their own but they did have many friends who furnished the music on their first recording.  This project sold well and also took them to another level.

In 2002, The Hinds Sisters released their second independent project titled "Jesus Gave Up His Life".  This project was recorded live at God's House of Prayer in Auburn, Alabama.  As the sisters began to travel more, the "Jesus Gave Up His Life" CD caught the attention of First Lite Records President, Stephen Sturkie.  The Hinds Sisters signed onto the First Lite Records family of artist in August 2004.  Shortly thereafter they won 3rd place at Luther Barnes' Fall Gospel Classic in Rocky Mount, North Carolina in October 2004.  Even though the ladies had been performing together for sixteen years this was their first competition and First Lite was very proud of their accomplishment.

The Hinds Sisters performed in Hartsville, South Carolina in July 2006 at the Hartsville Center Theatre.  The weeks following  their performance many people came to Stephen Sturkie commenting about the anointing that The Hinds Sisters had.  People saw God's anointing on the ladies even before they heard them sing His praise.  Once again their listening audience had given them a name, The Anointed Hinds Sisters.

Now as The Anointed Hinds Sisters celebrate their 16th anniversary, First Lite Records is proud to release their first project with the label.  The project is titled "The Cross", a title that the ladies felt led to name the project.  The CD includes some of their fans favorite songs such as "Lord You've Been So Good" written by the late Willie Banks, "Our Prayer" and "The Potter".  Adding something new to the mix is "The Blood Will Never Lose It's Power" written by Andrae' Crouch, "Power On The Inside",  "Foot of the Cross"  and "Show Me Your Way".

Currently the sisters are members of God's House of Prayer Holiness Church in Auburn, Alabama where Bishop Frank McLeod is their pastor.  Under the leadership of Bishop Frank McLeod they continue to grow in the Lord as their music ministry advances.  With the national release of "The Cross" CD what was once an Alabama locally known group has been blessed to become a nationally recognized recording artist.

Over the years, The Anointed Hinds Sisters have been through a lot.  There have been stumbling blocks with many ups and downs.  The sisters are thankful to God for He has been an ever present help in their lives whether directly or through other people.  The Lord has continually kept the sisters under His protection so that they may reach each and every mountain top that He has created for them.  The Anointed Hinds Sisters are on a mission for the Lord as the make preparations for what is to come.  This group of young women have a music ministry with the goal of winning souls for Christ as they travel across the country glorifying God thru music.  As you plan your next event please consider The Anointed Hinds Sisters as one of your guest and call Cindy Gainey at (843) 383-5715 for additional information on how you can further assist their music ministry.
