bama bandTHE BAMA BAND Twice nominated for the Academy of Country Musics Band of the Year Award, The Bama Band for over 20 years backed superstar Hank Williams jr. Standing on their own as a show stopping act, The Bama Band pours it on with no let down. From hard driving rock and roll to rhythm and blues to progressive country- from high energy to soulful and slow, their multifaceted show has developed from a multitude of influences.

Wayne Animal Turner, lead vocalist and guitarist with the Bama Band has worked with Hank since 1979. As a member of the Bama Band , Wayne has performed with many other stars including Reba McIntire, Dickie Betts, Lee Roy Parnell, Vern Gosdin, and many others.

Billy Earheart, keyboardist, has been a member of Hank Jrs legendary Bama Band since 1985. Before working with Hank Jr. Billy played with Al Green, B.B.King , Waylon Jennings, Memphis Slim, Tony Joe White, and many others. Billy is also a Grammy Award winning original member of the Amazing Rhythm Aces.

Ray Barrickman, bass guitar and vocals, has been a member of Hank Jrs. Bama Band since 1983. Ray has also worked with The Impressions, Sammy Hagar, Leslie West, Kieth Sykes, and the Kentucky Headhunters. and many others.

Drummer Bill Marshall, a veteran with Hank since 1982, has also played with Larry Raspberry and the Highsteppers, Target, Bertie Higgins (Key Largo) Professor Longhair, Billy C. Wirtz, Survivor and many others.

The Bama Band has 4 albums on their own. The first album on Complete Records simply called The Bama Band had the original version of the hit Stand Up by Mel McDaniel. The second CD on Mercury-Polygram, Solid Ground includes the rockin version of White Lightnin and When we get back to the Farm featuring Hank Jr. on guest vocals. The third CD Takin Off The Edge was produced by veteran hit maker Jimmy Bowen. The title cut has been recorded by John Michael Montgomery and also includes Wayne Turners Ill Take My Heart And Go Home and Ray Barrickmans What Will I Tell My Heart?

The Bama Band has played on many of Hank Williams Jrs Gold and Platinum albums, including Hank Live, Wild Streak America The Way I See It, The Bocephus Box Set, Hank Jrs Greatest Hits III, and many others. They are also featured in many of Hanks videos that have won CMA and ACM Video of the Year, including All My Rowdy Friends Are CominOver Tonite, Young Country, My Name Is Bocephus, and the platinum video Full Access. The Bama Band also has three videos on their own. They are also supplying the music behind many of the Emmy Award winning Monday Night Football themes on ABC-TV. The Bama Band have performed on numerous TV shows with Hank Jr. over the past 20 years. Most recently backing Kid Rock and Hank on CMTs Crossroads and the ACM Awards and also live in concert.

The Bama Band have just released a brand new CD, called Beale Street Boogie on GinninCotton Records. It features 11 all original southern rockinsongs.
