Steve Black is one of the original four founding members of the Tuscaloosa horns. During college at the University of Alabama he performed with dance bands and the horn section that was to become the Tuscaloosa Horns doing commercials and session work in the Birmingham area. He has performed on stage with Bob Hope, John Davidson, Percy Sledge, Martha Reeves, B.J. Thomas, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The OJAYS, The Spinners, blues legend Johnny Shines and various dance and show bands in the Southeast. Steve is a Board Certified Music Therapist in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and presently works with different bands around the Southeast as well as the T-Town Horns. His sax is an early 70's model Mark VI Selmer with a high F# key. Steve says he "is happy to be a part of such a dedicated and professional group of uncompromising musicians like the Tuscaloosa Horns".
