Listen to and Purchase Eric J Cox music at CD Baby

I live in Auburn, Alabama and write country music and southern rock. I recently performed and recorded the songs I wrote for my first album in Franklin, TN.

Jesse White for The Corner News wrote, “Eric Cox and his Ridge Road Band are a country outfit of the old school variety...Cox’s voice is instantly recognizable; he has one of the deepest baritones ever to grace country music. His band is equally notable be it southern guitar licks or fiery fast fiddle runs. Influenced by greats like Cash, Haggard and Jennings, Cox pays tribute to his heroes with a sound that avoids the clichés so present in current pop country.”

The Band performs originals as well as country and southern rock classics. Eric Cox plays rhythm guitar, keys and performs lead vocals, Clay Crowe plays lead guitar, Sam Hickman plays bass, and Robert Farrah is on the drums.

THE ALBUM The Corner News described the album as one that, “...keeps to the traditional sounds that made country famous. Tunes like “Coming Soon” have pedal steel lines and a heartfelt delivery. “Old Florida Town” is more ballad like, this time accentuated by mandolin strums and gentle piano chords. Eric Cox stays true to his roots; Billy Ray Cyrus fans need not apply.”

The songs were recorded in Nashville and in Franklin, Tennessee at Dark Horse Studio. Eric Cox performed lead vocals, Steve Brewster on Drums, Mike Payne on Guitar, Gary Lunn on Bass, Matt Pierson on Bass, Scott Joyce on Keys, Derek Deakins on Fiddle and Mandolin, Scotty Sanders on Steel, Mike Douchette on Harmonica, Robin Grant with background vocals, and Dave Gallagher with background vocals. Engineers: Mike Carr, Will Surkan, David Bectel and production by Eric Cox with David Bectel. Album Art: James Hammond. All songs on the album were written, composed and performed by Eric Cox, All Rights Reserved © 2008 Eric J. Cox.
