 Jimmy Ray Hunter, 60, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away April 12, 2003 due to unexpected heart surgery complications. Jimmy Ray was born in Sheffield, Alabama. He is survived by his wife, Carol; son Chris (Valerie); step-daughter Cindy (George) and seven grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army. He received his M.A. Degree in Accounting from The University of Alabama and his B.S. Degree in Accounting from The University of North Alabama in 1965. He worked for The State of Florida as a Senior Auditor for the Office of the Auditor General, and then began serving as the Budget Officer for the District School Board of Collier County. As a musician, he was the lead singer for The Del-Rays and inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
