Cydney Molloy Foster was born in South Alabama, and her deep southern charm radiates throughout her voice and music.

Cydney Molloy Foster

Why this name?

I use both of my names(Cydney Molloy) professionally because I was raised in the deep south where "All true Southern ladies have double first names."

Do you play live?

Yes, I love to play live events. I've played in several restaurants, bars, and lounges, as well as the GumTree Festival and the Nashville Songwriter's Festival. I also LOVE to play the Acoustic Coffeehouse in Johnson City, TN, because of it's wonderful atmosphere.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

I think it's great exposure, especially for independent artists such as myself, but I think that fans and consumers need to respect it, as well. Some of us who aren't major names still make our living doing this too, and it really hurts us....

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

more than likely

Your influences?

I love Charlie Daniels, Allison Kraus, Jewel, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Barry Manilow, Bette Midler, Terri Clark, George Strait, Olivia Newton John, Reba McEntire, The Carpenters, Dolly Parton...It's a broad mix of influences, which ends up putting me generally at country, with some easy listening, folk, and southern rock flares.

Favorite spot?

I really love Nashville, TN, but I like anywhere with a good and open music scene.

Equipment used:

I use an Ibanez AEG-20, a Yamaha APX 700, a Fender Stratocaster, a Gibson Les Paul Special, and a keyboard that is currently broken and doesn't really warrant mentioning.

Anything else...?
