Ginger Holladay

Born: 4/28/1951  Leeds, AL

In 1969, during her senior year at Pell City High School, Ginger joined her sister Mary, Jeanne Green and Donna Thacher to sing on the American Studio recordings of Elvis Presley in Memphis, TN which included "In The Ghetto" and "Suspicious Minds." After the Memphis sessions she continued singing with the group on recordings in Muscle Shoals Studios on artist Percy Sledge, Joe Tex, Joe Simon & Odetta.

After high school she continued on recording sessions with the group in Memphis and Muscle Shoals as well as began touring with Ronnie Milsap,which led her to move to Nashville, TN. There she sang on more of Presley's hit recordings; "Hunk of Burning Love" and "The Wonder of You" as well as the number one hits; "When You Hot Your Hot" by Jerry Reed, "The Streak" by Ray Stevens, " The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down" by Joan Baez, "I Can Help" by Billy Swan and "Please Come To Boston" by Dave Loggins.

Ginger sang in Nashville until 1979 backing up artists such as Jimmy Buffet, Steve Young, John Prine, Delbert McClinton, Emmy Lou Harris, Guy Clark, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, Jerry Lee Lewis, Conway Twitty, Reba McIntyre, Hank Snow, Barbara Mandrell, Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gail. She also toured with Linda Ronstadt and sang on her album, "Love Has No Pride."

In 1979 Ginger moved to Chicago where she sang on national Radio and T.V. commercials, for United Airlines, McDonalds, Coke, Kellogg's and 7up and continued going back to Nashville for recording sessions until 1987. She then moved to San Francisco where she taught voice.

Ginger now resides with her husband in Leavenworth, Washington where she is writing songs and singing jazz and blues at local venues and wineries.
