Latham Hudson

Born: Sylacauga, AL

His songs have been recorded by such artists as George Jones, Tammy Wynette, B.J. Thomas, Burl Ives, Elvis Costello, Louise Mandrell, Box Car Willie, Barbara Streisand, and many others.  Hudson's "New Looks From An Old Lover" was a number one country cross-over hit for B.J. Thomas.  "I'm In Tune," a song written with Gloria Thomas, was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1985 and was a number one song on Billboard magazine's inspirational chart. * Hudson has also produced records with Jon and Jim Hager of Hee-Haw fame.

B.J.Thomas.....Continuing his supportive inclinations, a series of positive-themed discs were embraced by the gospel community, giving him the first four platinum albums in gospel history. A brief-but-successful foray into country music—dotted by “Whatever Happened To Old Fashioned Love” and “New Looks From An Old Lover,” written by his wife, Gloria, Red Lane and Latham Hudson—emphasized classic family ideals and commitment, as did the still-familiar theme to Growing Pains, “As Long As We Got Each Other,” sung on the tube with Jennifer Warnes.....
