The Uplander Singing Band is only the latest edition of a family singing group that has spanned the last 150 years.

This a gospel group that defies a certain category. Traditional Old Time Gospel is the core of their sound, with a heavy touch of Bluegrass. The harmonies feature that tight "family" sound that especially shines with their many acapella songs. What sets this band apart is their shape note singing. The "fa-so-la" singing adds a surreal experience to each performance.

The band is based in North Central Alabama, and has been performing in churches throughout the area. They are now edging into the Bluegrass festival circuit, building fans across the region while reaching out with their version of the Gospel and Grace of the Lord Jesus.
