third door

Third Door, a modern rock trio originating from Holly Pond, Alabama, was formed in March of 1998. The band members included Jason McBrayer, 21 - lead vocals and bass, Shane Scott 22 - lead guitar and backup vocals, and Justin Oliver 22 - Drums. All three were very good friends since childhood. The idea for the name Third Door surfaced while the three were rehearsing in a small makeshift area behind the third door of McBrayer's garage in Holly Pond. Rehearsals in the garage eventually led to performances on the road. The trio performed at venues throughout the south, ranging from universities and clubs to fish fry's and cheerleading camps.

After a road tour the band decided to record. Not having access to a professional studio didn't prevent the band from using their talent and ingenuity to create a ready for release CD. The band pooled their resources and transformed Scott's small apartment living room into a recording studio where their debut CD "Apartment 82" was born and shortly thereafter the record label "Playroom Records". With an 8 track recorder, the three self produced the band’s debut CD in Scott's tiny apartment. One of the first songs written by Scott took Third Door to New York where the band had the opportunity to play in New York’s infamous Apollo Theater alongside such names as Eve, Sisqo, Jessica Simpson, and Nick Lachey. The song was called "Little Crazy" and caught the attention of Teen People Magazine and Warner Brothers Records. The band was eventually voted by readers as the best unsigned band of 2000. Although bestowed with success things didn't seem to come quick enough for the young band and the group ended up parting ways.
