arlene varneyArlene Varney was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Her parents were Nelson and Mary B. Greenhill. She made her first appearance on stage when she was only eight years old, during a revival. It was at that early age she realized that singing about Jesus would be her hearts desire.

Arlene and her family moved to Alabama when she was fourteen. They were attending a little country church where she was inspired to take up the guitar. At the age of fifteen she started evangelizing with her mother. Arlene would travel all over the southeast and mid- western states. It was the perfect training. You can see her confidence on stage as she sings and ministers today.

Arlene is now married to a very supportive man, Luther Varney. She has started her own ministry and has released her first single in April 1999. She chose a song titled "His Hand Can Reach Your Heart", written for her, by Kathy Clark, a well known songwritter in Country Gospel. Her album will be finished by med summer and is sure to have many hit songs released from this one project. Arlene has accomplished so much for a new artist in a short time. She is the founder of "The Lady's Of Country Gospel". She has been voted 1999 CGMA "New Artist of The Year" . In 1997 and 1998 she was awarded "Recruiter of The Year", which shows her dedication to Country Gospel music. In that same year she won "Promoter of The Year". Arlene also has a background in television. She managed a local Christian station, "Unity Broadcasting". It was there where she gained confidence in performing live on camera, as well as on stage during concerts. With her strong, anointed voice, you are sure to hear more from her in the very near future. With Gods help Arlene Varney will be reaching thousands of souls for the Kingdom of God.
